Mother’s Day & Baby Dedication

This Sunday we heard the voices of many talk about their love for their mothers. We also heard prayers for their mothers and families as well. It was very heartfelt and touching. Also, it was baby dedication day and we had families dedicate their children to the Lord. In doing this there wasn’t a sermon but you can hear what went on in the podcast download.

Theories of the Identification of the Antichrist

On 1 June 2000, Israel became an Associate Member of the European Union. This agreement was negotiated in 1995. This associate membership allows Israel to cooperate with Europe in industry, trade, transportation, communication, and energy usage. Israel is now officially linked to the so-called Revived Roman Empire. It is claimed that this associate membership of Israel with Europe establishes the relationship that Israel will have with the Antichrist.

Dan 12 (Time, times and half a time) may equal 2 and Â½ millenniums or 2500 years. 1290 years from the time of the cancelling of the custom of sacrifice in the Temple to the time of the fall of the Temple and then another 45 years will be needed to witness the side and destruction of the Antichrist (12: 11-12)

Muslim scholars believe that the term â€œTemple without sacrificeâ€ refers to the building of the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem over the â€œHoly of Holiesâ€ on the Temple Mount (ie. The rebuilding of the temple with no need for sacrifice) completed in 677 AD and that the temple fall refers to the 1967 (Six Day) War; exactly 1290 years between the two events and the 1335 years of Dan. 12 refers to the year 2012 AD, the same date that is feared by many as foretold by the Mayan calendar.^¹

Daniel 9:26 â€œPrince who is to comeâ€

Daniel 7:8 ( Daniel Chapter 7)^[9][1] talks about the antichrist will be an 11th leader of the 4th and largest political entities (empires) that will matriculate in the end times. the first will be referred to as a Lion (probably France, both Lois and Napolion mean Lion) the second as a Bear ( probably Russia, Bear was always the symbol of Russia), the third as a Leopard ( probably England, find it on the crown seal) and the 4th and “very exeedingly powerful” (probably the US). this eleventh king (hebrew word used was “Nasi” meaning Head of a state), will say pompous words “irritating or blasphemous statements” and will be “decieving”. When “The Major Prohet” Daniel in (Daniel chapter 12) ^[10] asked the Angel Gabriel about when these things will happen “namely the end times”, the Angel comforted him that it will happen very far away in the future, after “a time, another time and a half time ” probably refering to 2 and a half millenias ( 2500 years). However the Angel gave him a hint that ” from the time of the cancelling of the custome of Sacrifice in the Temple to the time of the fall of the temple “disegrating the temple ” will be a 1290 years, but another 45 years will be needed to witness the rise and destruction of the destruction of the antichrist. Muslem scholars believe that “Temple without Sacrifice” refers to the building to the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem over the site of The Rock “the Holy of Holies” “ie the rebuilding the Temple but with no need for sacrifice from then on” completed in 677 AD ,and that the Temple fall refers to the 1967 War “exactly 1290 years between the two events”, and the 1335 years of chapter 12 refers to the year 2012 AD, the same date that is feared by many as being foretold by the Mayan calender.

Often cited are passages such as Daniel 9:26, which describes a “prince who is to come.” History documents that, in A.D. 70, the Roman soldiers under Titus destroyed the Second Temple in Jerusalem, built by the Jewish people under the guidance of Nehemiah. Some hold that this prophecy refers to this incident. ^[11]. The second part of the verse reads, “And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary.” Therefore, it is supposed by some that the Antichrist will be of Roman descent.

According to the views of some millennialists, the prince in Daniel 9:27 will broker a 7 year peace treaty between Israel and other nations; however, 3 1/2 years into the treaty, the prince will break the covenant. Most eschatologists agree this “prince” is the Antichrist. Some do not believe this 7 year period is to last a literal seven years. Some believe that the “covenant” consists of acknowledging the Antichrist’s position in the place of God.[2]

However, an alternative understanding of this passage is that it refers to the true Christ, who from the time of his baptism and anointing kept peace between Israel and God in that they still had special favor from God at that time (Matthew 10:6). 3Â½ years into that time, with his death, ‘he caused sacrifice … to cease’ (ASV) in that Christianity, rather than the Jewish system of animal sacrifices and the Mosaic law, became God’s approved method of worship. After the full 7 years, 3Â½ years after Jesus died, the apostle Peter received a vision indicating that he should preach to the gentile Cornelius, and from then on Jews were seen as merely being equal with other nations. Some do not believe these time periods are literal, or that there is anything in the text to note when the last 3Â½ years end.^[12] By this understanding, Daniel 9 does not refer to the antichrist. The references to a covenant apply to the ‘anointed one’, or ‘messiah’, not to the ‘prince’, who is simply the Roman officer who destroyed Jerusalem some time after these events had taken place.
